Films such as "Platoon" and "Apocalypse Now" give Vietnam Veterans a chance to have a platform to share their experiences. The physical and phycological effects of the Vietnam War are shown through curtain scenes in these movies. This has allowed many veterans nationwide to feel more comfortable with their experiences, knowing that plenty of other men have had similar experiences to them. The personal side of these films creates a better understanding of the complexities and harsh realities that many veterans face. Overall many films have shaped how the world perceives the Vietnam War and the soldiers who fought in it.
